Jam of the Week: Go Get It

Mary Mary is one of my favorite gospel groups and "Go Get It" has become my anthem!

Just hearing Tina's first line in the song impacts me so much - "It's like you're looking through a telescope; you see where you're gon' be. . ."

Wow, so powerful and true!!  Check out the music video below and go get your blessing!

I also watch Mary Mary's reality show on +WE tv.  I hate seeing my sister in Christ (Tina Campbell) going through so much pain in her marriage.  She may feel weak, but I know her strength is helping a lot of people.

One of Mary Mary's fans on Facebook sent some words of encouragement to Tina by posting the lyrics to their song "Survive."  It is the perfect reminder of how you can/will get through any storm.

Here are the lyrics to "Survive" by Mary Mary:

Anyday now, it's what I kept telling myself
On the last mile, on the road to somewhere
But along the way I (got stopped by)
All the wind and the rain and
To my surprise
And it shook my heart
Blew my mind
I've had to cry so many nights
I've had to hold on for my life
But all I can say now is that I survived

[Chorus:]
I survived, I survived, I survived
I survived, I survived, I survived
Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now

Now hurt and pain were sometimes my company
Separated from those, then I suppose
I didn't have no guarantees
But one thing, I knew for sure was
I've had my share of ups and downs
I made it even though
Oh, it shook my heart
Blew my mind
I've had to cry so many nights
I've had to hold on for my life
But all I can say now is that I survived

[Chorus:]
I survived, I survived, I survived
I survived, I survived, I survived
Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now

I know you heard this message before
I wanna tell you once more
It's alright
I know the road your on might seem long
But I encourage you to hold on, hold on
You will survive

I do believe you will
But all I can say now is that I survived

[Chorus:]
I survived, I survived, I survived
I survived, I survived, I survived
Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now

When the weight of the world's
All on your shoulder
Just remember, remember, remember
To keep your head up and survive

Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now

[Chorus:]
I survived, I survived, I survived
I survived, I survived, I survived
Oh, Lord I had a lot on me
Truth be told, it almost broke me
But I'm so glad
I survived, I survived, I survived now

I'm HAPPY for Pharrell!

I enjoyed Oprah's interview with the very talented #PharrellWilliams on the OWN TV show, #OprahPrime.

This is a clip of Pharrell discussing the top 5 songs on his playlist with Oprah.

This was a touching moment that brought Pharrell to tears while talking about the success of the popular song "Happy," which he wrote for the movie Despicable Me 2.

Awwww!  How cool is that?!  Such a humble guy

And here is the official music video of "Happy."  Enjoy!

Pharrell also performed the Oscar nominated song at the Academy Awards.  AWESOME!

I wish Pharrell continued success and happiness as he keeps making great music!!
